The IT Security Specialist (ITSS) is focused on information security and has a particular emphasis on all aspects of IT, application, and data security as it relates to protecting information assets of Birchwood Automotive Group.
The ITSS will have extensive knowledge of the current IT Security threat landscape, IT compliance, technology offerings, including emerging technologies, a strong security background with knowledge of current and leading practices, experience in cyber security awareness training, and should have the hands-on experience in implementing and using security platforms/solutions.
o Monitor computer networks for security issues, investigate/remediate security breaches and other cyber security incidents
o Develop, implement, and maintain security measures to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls, privileged access solutions.
o Participate in the design of enterprise security architecture as well as enterprise security documents (policies, standards, compliance, and procedures)
o Perform periodic threat/risk assessments as well as penetration testing.
o In collaboration with other IT departments, evaluate, implement, and maintain security features/functions and controls of IT and business systems.
o Birchwood conducts third party cyber security audits on a regular basis. The ITSS will work with the auditors and address all findings pertaining to cyber and data security.
o Build a comprehensive Cyber security awareness program for employees of Birchwood Automotive Group, working closely with Learning & Development Team.
o Conduct in person and virtual security awareness training to employees
o Publish monthly security awareness bulletins
o Perform periodic phishing, spearing and other security awareness testing throughout the organization.
o Work with staff/end users to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, demonstrating a commitment to providing quality products and services
o Assist helpdesk to provide day to day IT Security support and troubleshooting through diagnosis and resolution of problems in response to user reported incidents.
o Researching trends and patterns of problems
o College diploma or university degree in computer science and/or five years equivalent work experience.
o Minimum 3 years of IT Security experience and/or certification (CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CSX)
o Working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and IT Control Frameworks such as NIST, ISO, PCI, CIS, COBIT.
o Experience with vulnerability assessment tools
o Experience with network penetration testing tools
o Experience with SIEM solutions is preferred i.e. SPLUNK
o Able to present technical information to non-technical staff/management.
o High attention to detail, and proven time management skills.
o Exceptional communication skills (in person, on the phone, and written).
o Valid 5F drivers license and own transportation to and from work
